The MBK Pledge

I, ________, hereby pledge to take and support actions that assure that all children especially boys and young men of color, succeed in life from cradle to career.


As an MBK parent, I commit to:
  1. Setting a good example for my child,

  2. Being actively involved in my child's learning experiences,

  3. Encouraging reading

  4. Praising my child's accomplishments and efforts towards accomplishments,

  5. Loving my child unconditionally and letting them know that they are worthwhile and valuable human beings

  6. Getting my child the help an services he/she needs to be successful.

As an MBK educator, I commit to:

  1. Identifying my students' needs and referring them to resources,

  2. Assuring effective teaching practices,

  3. Promoting positive school climates,

  4. Reducing uncecessary use of suspensions,

  5. Fostering a safe environment atamy school.

As an MBK faith-based organization member, I committ to:

  1. Learning about what I can do to support children's success,

  2. Giving my time, talent, or gifts to support efforts to assure children succeed.

As an MBK law enforcemnt office, I commit to:

  1. Ensuring that everyone in my community, especially children, feel safe and protected, Holding myself and others accountable for our actions

  2. Performing my dutines honestly and faithfully to the best of my ability and without fear, favor or prejudice,

  3. Aiding those in danger or distress,

  4. Making my State and Country a safer place in which to live

As an MBK non-profit organization member, I commit to:

  1. Using best practices to assure success for boys and young men of color,

  2. Increasing the number of boys and young men enrolled in our programs.

As an MBK community member, I commit to:

  1. Utilizing the best practivces and effective strategies that assure children succeed emotionally, physically, academically, and socially.
